Daniel Craig will return for his fifth 007 movie, which will open in theaters in the fall of 2019

After years of speculation, Craig told Stephen Colbert he will return for his fifth James Bond film.

For a secret agent, James Bond’s not doing a great job of keeping his comings and goings private at the moment. We just found out 007’s next film, the 25th in the long-running franchise, will open in November of 2019, and according to The New York Times, Daniel Craig is expected to reprise his role as James Bond. Now Deadline got word of the frontrunners to direct the still-untitled film.

With the arrival of San Diego Comic-Con last week, the major announcements started flying fast and furious. After the avalanche of release date announcements, trailer releases, and other first-look headline-generators, the news broke that the gears of progress had begun turning for James Bond’s next cinematic outing. The official Twitter account posted that the still-untitled James Bond 25 would hit American theaters on November 8, 2019 after an earlier release in the United Kingdom and elsewhere, and also presumably after shiploads of online pirates have gotten their mitts on it. Americans do not tend to take delayed release dates lying down.

Since the most recent film in the franchise came out about two years ago, with no word on what’s being planned for next, the rumor mill has gotten to churning. Today brings news that the Bond series is eyeing a possible cinematic universe angle for their dashing super-spy.
