There was a swell of excitement for the 2019 Minnesota Twins this year as they clubbed a Major League Baseball record 307 home runs, won the Central Division, and by doing that made the MLB Playoffs for the first time since 2017, and since 2011 as a non-wild card team. With all that excitement came the re-emergence of the Homer Hanky from the Star Tribune. Well, we now have photographic evidence of its existence, and where you can get your own Hanky to root, root, root for the home team.

Scrolling through Twitter this morning I found a photo of the elusive Hanky taken by @MatthewKevinJ. Check it out.

WCCO-TV's morning team also tweeted out a photo of the 2019 Homer Hanky.

I don't mind the red, personally, I would have wanted it to be pure like the originals and be white but it can't be, as there is an MLB rule, some have dubbed the Homer Hanky/Rally Towel Rule preventing the color to be white for towels or even advertising due to it affecting players being able to see the ball.

The Hanky is also more of a towel rather than the thin material used in 1987, 1991, and subsequent years. Maybe it will be nice to have with the cold October temps?

You can pick up a Homer Hanky at Cub Foods locations this afternoon and at the team’s stores at Target Field. Fans attending home playoff games at Target Field also will receive one.
