Election day is here! It takes a short amount of time to vote, but can have a huge impact on the direction of our country. When doing your research, don’t forget that the ballot includes so much more than the presidency. It includes U.S. representatives, mayoral candidates, city council and school board members, judges and a constitutional amendment.

I went to my local polling place earlier in the day, and despite the parking lot being full and people parked down the street, there were not any long lines to contend with. I was able to get in right away, look over my ballot and select the choices that I felt would be best. I’m not going to try to sway your vote in any one direction, that’s a decision only you can make, but I do want to remind you to know where your polling place is so that you are ready to cast your ballot and earn your "I Voted" sticker. Check out a polling place finder here. And find out what to expect on your ballot here. Get informed, and cast your ballot in the election! The polls are open until 8, but as long as you are in line before 8PM, you will be allowed to vote.

How was your voting experience today? KDHL will be bringing you election coverage this evening on air at 920AM, and online at KDHLradio.com.
