If you're heading to a Twins game later this summer at Target Field, you'll want to leave your big bags and backpacks at home.

That's because starting in July, the Twins are banning large multi-compartment bags like backpacks, meaning you won't be able to enter Target Field with them. That ban is just one of a few changes the Twins are implementing to speed up the lines entering Target Field.

Now that the Twins are having a killer season (despite a few recent losses in Cleveland, they STILL have the best record in Major League baseball), which means more and more fans are heading to Target Field.

Which means those security lines to get in are longer and longer. So long, in fact, that some fans who were used to showing up only a few minutes before the game started in years past, missed the first few innings standing in those slow lines.

So, starting July 5th, the Twins are banning "Backpacks, Duffel Bags, Multi-compartment Laptop Bags, Any bags larger than 16”x16”x8," the Twins website noted. It'll be a policy similar to the NFL policy that's already in use at U.S. Bank Stadium.

But the Twins are also making a few other changes designed to speed up the lines, too. Starting Tuesday, you'll be able to keep personal items, like cellphones, keys and wallets, on you while going through security, the story said. (You used to have to put them in a plastic container, like you do at the airport.)

Target Field will also continue to have security express lanes for fans who come to the game without a bag and "Sweet Spot" lanes for season ticket holders too, the story noted. You can read more about the new Twins policy HERE.
