Two Kids Catch 6-Foot Long Sturgeon from Minnehaha Creek

There was a huge sturgeon caught from Minnehaha Creek on Thursday by two boys. Owen (14) and Mac (12) saw the 6-foot long sturgeon and wanted to try and catch it.

They ended up catching the fish with a rope, KARE 11 says. "'We got a picture and then we put it back,'" Owen told KARE 11. He also remarked that it weighed more than both of them!

This fish is huge! And actually, the DNR is on the lookout for this sturgeon. They want to catch it and bring it to the Minnesota River or the Mississippi River.  Shannon Fisher with the DNR told KARE 11 that he's pretty sure the fish is a female.

The DNR will probably be sending more people out to look for this sturgeon early next week.
