[WATCH] Go Back In Time With This Faribo West Mall Video

In a recently uploaded video to Youtube, the Yodeling Loon Retail page, Brandon Novy details the history of Faribault's 2nd mall, the Faribo West Mall from its construction in the late 70s through the present day. The list of former tenants inside the massive structure that sits to the east of I-35 is enough to harken back memories of simply 'going to the mall' on a weekend or weeknight while in school to catch up with friends.

The mall, which was constructed in 1978, originally had Brett's Department Store, Hy-Vee, and White Mart as anchor tenants when the mall opened, and since the mall has grown and shrunk in size with the addition and then subtraction of Wal-Mart being attached to, then being demolished at the mall.

The only remaining original tenant is Maurices, and as Brandon points out in the full video below, even that has been kept somewhat true to how it would have appeared when the mall opened up, as the paint pattern on the walls is still there, just done in different colors.

There are other aspects of what businesses used to be inside the Faribo West Mall, as the Big Values exit sign, and some original signage being repurposed.
