With college being so insanely expensive, scholarships are more important than ever. So when a student has a dream to continue their education but needs financial help, it's amazing when they're rewarded for their hard work with a scholarship. And hundreds of high school students here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes were able to experience that joy recently.

A total of 361 Minnesota high school students across 70 high schools received a scholarship of up to $16,000 from Wallin Education Partners, according to KARE 11. And some of those students were able to be surprised in person. The reactions were captured on video and it's awesome.

Students Surprised on Camera with Huge Scholarships

Students from Blaine High School, Johnson High School, Owatonna High School, and Richfield High School were able to be surprised on camera. The thing is, the students thought they were filming a school video for seniors. But they were actually being awarded their scholarship.

The reactions were amazing. Students were in shock, crying, and screaming. They couldn't believe it!

KARE 11 writes that "Each [Wallin Education] scholar will receive up to $16,000 over four years for college, along with advising and coaching." A total of $8 million in scholarships were awarded this year from Wallin Education Partners.

Of the 2023 scholarship recipients, 88% of them are students of color, 74% are first-generation college students, and 100% of them demonstrated financial need for the scholarship.

Check out the Wallin Education Partners' video of the students receiving their scholarships. It's such a positive and heartwarming video!
