It feels like it's always football season. The full NFL schedule was recently announced. The draft is this week. Mini-camps and training camp aren't that far away either. One person that can't get enough of it is Owatonna's Todd Walkingstick. The longtime Vikings' season ticket holder is a contributor on KRFO with Vikings news and views.

Todd's enthusiasm and positivity are contagious. In our outlook on the draft, he said, "They say it's never a day off. And as a football fan, myself and all the other fans, we've got to love it."

Round one of the NFL draft is Thursday, April 25 and many signs point toward the Vikings looking for help on the offensive line. Todd is hopeful that Minnesota follows through on that need, though he has seen some mock drafts where the Vikings are projected to take a defensive tackle. Minnesota holds the 18th pick of the first round.

Todd admits the Vikings have some needs elsewhere as well, such as depth at running back and wide receiver. The Vikings will host a draft night party Thursday at USB Stadium where fans can watch the draft unfold on the large screen above the field.

The draft continues Friday and Saturday. Barring any trades, Minnesota holds one pick in the first, second, third and fourth rounds and two selections in the sixth and seventh rounds.

The top overall pick belongs to Arizona with San Francisco, the Jets, Oakland and Tampa Bay set to pick afterward.
