The calendar hasn't even been turned to December for a week yet, and it appears we may be in line here in Southern Minnesota to get some measurable snow before the week is up...maybe. The National Weather Service still isn't too sure if we will see measurable snow, but it is in the forecast.

The tweet by the National Weather Service in the Twin Cities talks about the minor snow event we will see possibly tonight and into the morning tomorrow which should bring portions of Southern Minnesota a 'dusting', less than an inch, of snow. But the tweet then goes on to say that some current models are showing "another potential system late in the week, but there is a high degree of uncertainty in the track." The Weather Channel is a little bit more committed to the snow on Friday.

The Weather Channel is calling for a 90% chance of snow Friday, and an 80% chance of snow Friday night with 1-3 inches expected Friday day, and 1-3 inches of snow Friday night. 2-6 inches of snow is what the area ski hills would like to see, but would be a rude refresher for winter driving for many commuters.

Speaking of snow, check out this video of the International Space Station floating over Southern Minnesota, around noon today, showing the clear dividing line along the Mississippi River of snow in Wisconsin along the Chippewa River as it empties into the Mighty Mississippi. For snow lovers out there, you can see that were SO close to seeing some white stuff in the grass this morning.

For now, snow lovers should be hoping for The Weather Channel's forecast, and for those that aren't quite ready for snow, should lean more on the National Weather Service out of the Twin Cities as they aren't ready to declare who will see snow later this week.
