Good news and maybe a small sign things are moving back toward normal? The Southern Research and Outreach Center at Waseca will be hosting the Annual Winter Crops Day next week in person! Registration begins at 9:30 Thursday January 13, 2022 with the program beginning at 10:00 am. Lunch will be served at noon and the program wraps up at 1:30 pm. The cost is just $40 which includes lunch and hand-out materials and you do not have to pre-register. CEUs will be available for Certified Crop Advisors.

The topics include: Agronomics to advance corn and soybean production with Extension Educator Jeff Coulter, Integrating cover crops into corn and soybean weed management systems with Graduate student Ethan Ley from Dept. of Agronomy and Plant Genetics, Lessons learned on nitrogen management for corn in south-central Minnesota with Manure Management Specialist Fabian Fernandez,   Update on University of Minnesota weed management trials with Extension Educator Ryan Miller, Herbicide drift research and 2021corn planting trials presented by Tom Hoverstad Agronomist at SROC and Managing phosphorus fertilizer on acid and calcareous soils presented by Jeff Vetsch Researcher at SROC.

This has always been one of my favorite programs every year with very timely topics that are addressed! If you would like more information contact Deann Nelson at SROC 507-837-5629 or nelson191@umn.edu.
