Your Opportunity To Tour The Faribault Airport Is Coming In September
If you've ever wanted to check out what the Faribault airport is like with the newly constructed arrival and departure building having now been finished, your chance to check it out and see some planes at the same time is happening at the end of September.
According to the City of Faribault's website, the Faribault Municipal Airport-Liz Wall Strohfus Field will host an open house on Sept. 25, from 8:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. The open house will feature coffee and donuts, and there will also be some planes that will be parked at the airport for people to look at as well.
I didn't realize exactly how long the municipal airport has been in Faribault. The city stated in their announcement of the open house that the airport has been in Faribault since 1947. That's 74 years of flying in and out of Faribault!
Faribault's airport features 4 runways, two that are over 4,200 feet long and two that are 2,300 feet long. The airport is managed by Quality Aviation which offers service on Cessna, Cirrus, and Robinson Helicopters.
If you've got little ones that like planes or maybe want to be a pilot when they grow up, this might be an event you'd want to circle on your calendar.
