The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) has opened the polls for voting in 2022's “Name a Snowplow” contest.

MnDOT says over 11,000 snowplow name submissions came in through December, and fifty finalists have been selected for us to vote on. What were the criteria that pushed a name suggestion forward?

"Creativity, how unique it is, frequency of submissions, Minnesota-specific ideas, and names that would be easily identifiable and understandable to broad audiences."

Most of the offerings are new to the contest, though a few are lingerers from the 2021 vote. Scroll through the finalists and see if you can find 8 you want to vote for, then keep scrolling for the link to vote.

You can vote once. Cast your votes before midnight on Wednesday, January 26, 2022. In early February, the winners will be announced and they'll also announce the areas in Minnesota where the named snowplows will live.
