The annual American Association of University Women (AAUW) book sale is coming up, and Pat Rice and possibly other representatives of the organization will stop by the KDHL studio today.

Proceeds from the sale are used for scholarships. Deadline for applications is May 1, 2016. The Faribault AAUW branch awards two $1,500 scholarships to qualifying local women.

Recipients must be "presently enrolled in a program at a four-year college or university and have completed a minimum of one year. The program may be at the graduate or undergraduate level," according to the Faribault AAUW branch website.

The book sale will be in April and we will get specific information on the program today at 9:30AM.

"The AAUW empowers women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research," according to their website.

The nonpartisan, nonprofit organization has more than 170,000 members and supporters across the United States. There are 1,000 local branches and 800 college and university partners. AAUW was founded in 1881.

The 2015-16 co-chairwomen of the Faribault branch are Karen Rasmussen and Pat Fuchs.

If you can't listen at 9:30AM, go to our YouTube channel later today to watch the video.

Pictured below is a book I've been reading and would highly recommend if you enjoy reading about miracles. I have a small plaque in my garage that says, "Believe in miracles," and I do. The book pictured has a couple of miracle stories.

You remember the "Chicken Soup for the Soul" series of books. This book is similar, only the stories are longer.
