The awesome photo above was captured on a co-workers dash-cam during a thunderstorm earlier this year. A lot of people have them in their cars, but are they legal?  Well, it depends on how they're mounted.

Sgt. Troy Christianson from the Minnesota State Patrol says, "Minnesota law allows driver feedback and safety monitoring equipment when mounted immediately behind, slightly above, or slightly below the rearview mirror. Mounting directly on the “dashboard” of the vehicle is not allowed as that could obstruct the vision of the driver"
