The author of, "Is God in That Bottle Cap? A Search for Truth" is the guest on today's KDHL AM Minnesota program at 9:30 a.m.

John Sambalino says the simple daily ritual of meditation can save lives.  It costs nothing.  Requires no special equipment.  People of all ages can do it, even children.  It can be done at work, in bed, on the floor or in a chair.

Sambalino believes meditation can improve your health, relationships, job performance and mood.  He says he has used it to help prison inmates avoid future crimes.

The New Jersey author adds it's calmness reduces stress, helps you deal with deadlines, leads to better sleep. and even boosts memory.

There are studies that have shown meditation can boost your immune system.

There are a number of meditation apps on the market claiming to help you reduce stress and anxiety.

One claims these benefits with just 10 minutes of meditation each day.

Even the world renown Mayo Clinic in Rochester has information on their website about it.  It's titled Meditation: A simple fast way to reduce stress.  The Mayo Clinic page about meditation states it "can wipe away the day's stress, bringing with it inner peace."

The page written by Mayo Clinic Staff states, "Anyone can practice meditation.  Wherever you are, whether you're out for a walk, riding the bus, waiting at the doctor's office or even in the middle of a difficult business meeting."

Meditation has been around for thousands of years.  During the exercise your focus your attention and eliminate the stream of jumbled thoughts that may be crowding your mind and causing stress.
