Beverages With a Classic Rock Twist
Have you ever wished you could share a drink with members from your favorite band? You many never get the chance to sit down and actually chat with them over a beer or a glass of wine, but you can purchase beverages that they have created!
Your favorite classic rockers may once have been known for smashing bottles, but these days, they are more likely to be putting their name on the label sticking to the bottle. In recent years, I’ve been hearing about classic rock groups and individuals collaborating with breweries and vineyards to develop beverages, creating their own brand and product, and in some cases allowing their band’s name and images to be licensed for a particular product.
There is a saying that goes “Start your day with coffee, end your day with wine,” so we’ll follow that motto. If you need a jolt of caffeine in the morning, you have a couple of options. Maybe the best part of getting going in the morning is a steaming cup of Aerosmith’s Rockin’ & Roasting coffee line. Another option would be to fill your cup with Whip’s Pacific Blend Coffee by Queensryche’s Michael Wilton, offering three blends. You could fuel your morning routine with British Steel, presented by Judas Priest and Dark Matter Coffee.
If you enjoy a glass of wine, you have a few options to choose from. AC/DC has a line of wines with varieties like Hells Bells, a sauvignon blanc; Back in Black shiraz; You Shook Me All Night Long moscato; Highway to Hell cabernet; and a Thunderstruck chardonnay. You could also sip a big glass of Whitesnake zinfandel, which was created when David Coverdale teamed up with winemaker Dennis De La Montanya. Or explore the offerings of Wines That Rock, the self-professed official wine of rock ‘n’ roll. They craft labels such as The Police Synchronicity red wine, Rolling Stones Forty Licks merlot, and the Grateful Dead Steal Your Face red blend.
If beer is your preferred beverage, there is no shortage of classic rock infused hops to enjoy. The Rolling Stones are featured in a line of beers sold in Japan. As the Kiss Army has matured to a legal drinking age, there is now a Kiss Destroyer beer they can enjoy. And for those about to rock, and consume, AC/DC offers the Australian Hardrock.
It seems like new varieties and collaborations are constantly popping up! Would you give any of these rock-infused beverages a try?
