Hudson, WI (KROC-AM News)- The Hudson police Department has identified the body pulled from the St. Croix River earlier this week.
Police along with members of Minnesota’s Washington County Sheriff’s Office and Wisconsin’s St. Croix County Sheriff’s Department responded to the river near Hudson Wednesday morning on the report of someone finding a possible body in the water. Water teams recovered the body later in the day.
The Hudson Police Department Thursday said the remains have been identified as 31-year-old Hai Quoc Nguyen. The River Falls man was reported missing last month and was the subject of a statewide missing person alert issued in Minnesota.
Hai was last seen driving in downtown Hudson on the night of March 3. Authorities found his vehicle abandoned in Hudson with his phone wallet and keys left behind. The Hudson Police Department thanked everyone involved in the search and recovery effort.
Meanwhile search efforts are continuing up river from Hudson in Chisago County, where an 18-year-old man fell into the river last week. Authorities say D'Andrea Sanvig of Luck, WI lost his footing and plummeted into the river from an overlook at Interstate Park.
