In a tweet yesterday Burger King announced it's intentions to reduce the amount of methane produced by its cows, through burping and farting, by 33% through the addition of lemongrass to the cow's diet. Ordinarily, a news release like this wouldn't generate too many headlines, but how they announced it was what has garnered plenty of attention. They released a music video set to a song all about methane and cow farts, sung by children.

The Tweet from Burger King yesterday reads:

cow farts & burps are no laughing matter. they release methane, contributing to climate change. that’s why we’re working to change our cows’ diet by adding lemongrass to reduce their emissions by approximately 33%...- Burger King

Accompanying the tweet was this video that I have to admit got stuck in my head.

On top of Burger King making cow farts sound catchy in a song, they have open-sourced the new cow diet for more people to use in order to reduce greenhouse gasses.

To me there's not much funnier than a fart, well maybe a monkey farting, but that's a different story for another day.

Burger King goes more in-depth on how they plan to reduce methane gas here.
