The Cannon Falls Bombers scored 7 runs in the top of the 7th inning to score a 11-5 victory tonight over the Kenyon-Wanamingo Knights in Wanamingo.

Senior lefthanded pitcher Owen Hilke suffered the loss.  Beau Zimmerman went the distance for the Bombers victory.

Zimmerman threw 88 pitches, 70 strikes with 5 strikeouts, 0 walks, 9 hits allowed.

Hilke threw the first 6 and 1/3 innings with 103 pitches, 76 strikes, 2 strikeouts, 2 walks, 3 hit batters.

Kenyon-Wanamingo scored a run in the first inning when Gavin Sommer hit a one out single on a 0-2 count.  Zimmerman threw over to first base attempting to get Sommer out when the throw went wide and Sommer wheeled to third base.

Hilke hit a grounder to second base scoring Sommer.   The Knights were ahead 1-0 going into the top of the 3rd inning when Cannon Falls scored 4 runs to take the lead.

With one out Elliott Nelson had a 0-2 count infield single.  Riley Miller was walked.  Beau Zimmerman singled with the count 0-2 to load the bases.  Loden Bell was safe on a error.  Marcus Banks smacked a RBI single on a 1-2 count.

Following a fielder's choice Ari Wells clubbed a RBI single after jumping on the first pitch.  Nine batters came to the plate for Cannon Falls.

Kenyon-Wanamingo chipped at the lead scoring in the 4th inning when Luke Berg clobbered a double to open the inning.  Following a out and a single Berg scored on a sacrifice fly RBI by Alec Johnson on a 0-2 count.

The Knights scored 2 more times in the bottom of the 5th inning to tie the game at 4.

Trevor Steberg had a first pitch single to start the inning.  Zimmerman tried to pick him off first base and he ended up at third base.  Tyler Craig hit a single with the count 0-2.  Gavin Sommer delivered a sacrifice fly RBI,

In the bottom of the 6th inning Kenyon-Wanamingo took the lead when Bray Olson led the inning with a first pitch triple.  Alex Vold hit a 1-0 pitch in the air to the outfield scoring Olson.  Following a strikeout Paul Kortsch hit a blooper to right field.  He stole second base during the Steberg at bat putting Kortsch in scoring position.

The Knights were up 5-4 with their senior hurler Owen Hilke on the pitching rubber.

In the top of the 7th inning Hilke hit Zimmerman to start the inning.  Zimmerman stole second base and the throw down from the catcher went into centerfield allowing Zimmerman to advance to third base.  Loden Bell clubbed a RBI single.  An out was recorded.

Preston Carlisle and Ari Wells had back to back singles allowing Bell's courtesy runner Will Johnson to score.  An error loaded the bases again.  That ended Hilke's outing on the hill.

Gavin Sommer entered the game to pitch and walked the next batter but the runner from third scored on a passed ball.

Nelson tallied his third hit of the day.  Sommer uncorked a couple of wild pitches and another passed ball allowed runners to score.  Following his second walk allowed Sommer was relieved by Tyler Craig who hit the first batter he faced before recording a strikeout to end the 7 run inning with 4 hits and 2 errors.

Zimmerman faced the top of the order in the bottom of the 7th but retired them in order.

Cannon Falls 11 runs, 10 hits, 3 errors, 10 runners left, 7 in scoring position
Kenyon-Wanamingo  5 runs, 9 hits, 5 errors, 4 runners left, 2 in scoring position

The Knight of the game courtesy of Held Bus Service Kenyon was Luke Berg after a 2 for 3 day at the plate with a double, run scored, 2 stolen bases.

The Cashwise Foods and Pharmacy of Owatonna Deliveries of the game went to Cannon Falls pitcher Beau Zimmerman and first baseman Elliott Nelson.  Zimmerman for no walks allowed in the game and Nelson for his 3 hit day.  His first two hits came with two strikes.

Kenyon-Wanamingo is 8-5 overall, 5-5 in the Hiawatha Valley League.  Cannon Falls is now 5-8.
