Check Out the Adoptable Pet of the Week: Azzy the Dog

Isn't this one of the most gorgeous-looking pups out there? Meet the adoptable animal of the week, Azzy. Azzy is a people pleaser, which like all people-pleasing dogs means your personal space is her personal space! Azzy just might be that piece that is missing in your home! She isn't liking being in the shelter, and the kind volunteers would love to find her a home to make her much more comfortable.

With more information about Azzy, I turn to our friend and shelter volunteer at the Mower County Humane Society, Michaela Tews.

Michaela told us that "Azzy came to the shelter as an owner surrender. She is an approximately 3 year old pit bull type gal. She is enthusiastically affectionate and has no real sense of personal space. She loves people and wants nothing more than to be as close to them as possible. She loves to give hugs and crawl into laps."

Michaela also shared with us that "The stress of the shelter is really bothering her and she is losing weight even though she has a great appetite and eats well." How sad! Let's get her comfortable at her new home soon!

It wouldn't be a bad idea to look into obedience classes for Azzy, it would help form that trust bond with you and her. Another thing that you should know about a dog like Azzy is that she will need regular exercise, which is normal and the good news is that she "walks well on a leash and enjoys it."

Michaela tells us that Azzy would "need to be the only pet in the home and would prefer a home in which she's not left alone a lot and kids over 5 would be just fine with her."

Azzy has been fully vetted and her adoption fee is $125, with an approved application.
