Community in Austin Comes Together for Community Christmas Dinner

The Austin community recently hosted a community Christmas dinner at VFW Post 1216. The dinner was open to anyone and Santa was even there for the kids!

One of the volunteers, Nelson Lebarron, said the man who makes the desserts for this community dinner is really talented so the desserts are delicious. He also said to KTTC, "'I like to come here and see the people smile, see everyone just get together.'"

Santa also spoke with KTTC and he said the most rewarding part about being involved with this community dinner is the children. "'How they light up, how they smile, how they laugh. They just love to get in close for a picture and it just makes their day.'"

This community Christmas dinner is possible thanks to donations.
