Friday morning an Apple Valley woman was bitten by a Coyote, while out jogging, according to the Apple Valley Police Department.

Chief Jon Rechtzeigal said his officers were called to Cedar Island park about 7:30 Friday morning.

When they got there they found a woman, her face bleeding and she said she was jogging with her husband and was bitten by a coyote. She said it came face to face with her as she was getting ready to cross a bridge. The Apple Valley police have contacted both the DNR and the Humane society about the incident. There have been sightings of coyotes before in Apple Valley.

The coyotes probably lived in the area before Apple Valley became such a big city. And now they are checking out neighborhoods that used to be the places they could roam.
