Damaging Winds: Elevated Severe Weather Risk Friday Night
It's going to be hot, hot, hot. It's almost like Mother Nature doesn't know the Rice County Fair has been canceled due to COVID-19. To go along with the hot and steamy weather we are expected to get Friday and Saturday damaging winds are also expected for a portion of Minnesota Friday night.
According to the National Weather Service in the Twin Cities, an elevated risk for severe weather will be in effect Friday night with the expectation of damaging winds and the possibility of hail and heavy rain. It's a good idea to have ways to receive emergency alerts overnight Friday into Saturday.
Steele, Goodhue, and Dodge Counties are currently looking to be under a marginal risk for severe weather Friday night which is the lowest risk posted from the National Weather Service.
With the warm temps and high heat indices expected Friday and Saturday stay hydrated and limit exposure to the high temps and reduce physical outdoor activities.
