About an hour Southwest of Owatonna, give or take, is the city of Winnebago, home to Corn Plus Ethanol Plant. They were the first ethanol plant in Minnesota, and have been in production since 1994. They are a locally owned cooperative with over 600 shareholders, according to their website.

Unfortunately, due to low commodities prices, they are closing their doors and most of the employees will be laid off. They may be able to re-open the plant, under the right conditions, like new ownership.

In a banner on the top of their website, they are closed to corn receiving through Thursday, and Friday says TBA (to be announced).
