The Kenyon-Wanamingo Knights football team has not played a home game on their field in Kenyon in two years.  Thursday night they kick off at 7:00 p.m. against the Cleveland Clippers.  The game will be broadcast on POWER 96 Radio, 95.9 FM beginning at 6:45 p.m.

The Knights spent all of last season on the road while their field was getting a complete makeover.  Added to the football field is a 6 lane track.  Due to the addition of the track the bleachers will all be on the east side of the field.

Kenyon-Wanamingo Superintendent Jeff Pesta has announced the Knights will also pilot a program designed to improve the game night experience called "Food and Football."

Local vendors such as Blondies Butcher Shop of Wanamingo and the Taco Express of Kenyon will be at the field providing a variety of delicious tail gate foods at all home games this season.

In addition to the opener Thursday the other home games are September 13, September 27 and October 11.

Pesta encourages fans to, "Leave your leftovers in the fridge and plan to eat under the Friday Night Lights with the Knights."

In addition to the new track the football field has all new grass and NFL style goalposts.  There is still some work that needs to be completed on the field but Knights Head Coach Jake Wieme says his team is, "Looking forward to playing at home Thursday."
