CENTRAL AVENUE SPREADING SMALL ROCK
loading...

Earlier this summer I took these pictures of our Faribault City crews putting an overlay on Central Avenue. Apparently putting this covering on asphalt streets increases the service life of the street. It was fun to take a few minutes and watch them put down the hot oil and then spread the small rock on the street. It was pretty evident the dump truck drivers, the ones running the rock spreader and the oil truck all had a lot of experience operating that equipment!

These are skilled and experienced operators that knew what they were doing! I don't know for sure but I suspect these same people are the ones operating the snowplows and front end loaders in the winter too. They were doing the overlay on Central Avenue really early in the morning as they wanted to have it finished before the business opened in the morning. The semi tanker of oil got there a little late so they were not quite finished when Central Avenue got busy but they were close.
