Faribault Baseball at Byron to Open Playoffs

The Faribault Falcons baseball team could probably use a few days off after playing each day this week and last Saturday.  Five games over the past seven days.

The Secton 1 Class 3A playoffs begin Saturday in the eight team double elimination tournament.  Bethlehem Academy will also be on the road to open their postseason more then likely Memorial Day 5:00 p.m. at Southland. They are in Section 1 Class 1A.

The Falcons received the #8 seed and go to #1 Byron for a 1:00 p.m. game Saturday.  Win or lose they play on Tuesday at the higher seed.  That obviously means Faribault will not be hosting any playoff games.

#4 Red Wing and #5 Austin are the other two teams on their side of the bracket.  Other first round games Saturday at 1:00 p.m. feature #6 Red Wing at #3 Albert Lea.

#2 Jordan hosts #7 Kasson-Mantorville.

The Bethlehem Academy baseball team in Section 1 Class 1A and are scheduled to open play Memorial Day at 5:00 p.m.

If they seed by QRF the Cardinals will go to Southland Memorial Day at 5:00 p.m.

Opening round is single elimination.  If Bethlehem Academy wins they would advance to play Thursday 5:00 p.m. at Riverland College in Austin.

Top seed Hayfield receives a bye in the first round.  The Vikings have been ranked #1 in Class 1A all season.  Hayfield will play the winner of the Rushford-Peterson at Blooming Prairie game if they seed by QRF.
