The Faribault Falcons boys hockey team was supposed to play the Luverne Cardinals today in Blaine.  Due to the treacherous travel conditions the game was moved to New Year's Eve Day at 11:00 a.m.

Friday the Falcons defeated the Becker/Big Lake Eagles 4-2 after being outshot 27-21.  Jake Dolter was in net with 25 saves.  Faribault was 1 for 6 and Becker 1 for 5 on the power play.

Zach Siegert had two assists and a goal.  Four Falcons scored points in the game.

8:08 into the contest Becker scored an even strength goal.  3:50 later Leighton Weasler connected for a power play goal assisted by Siegert.  Becker played much of the period short handed due to penalties.

4:33 into second period Zach Slinger scored assisted by Siegert.  6:07 Jordan Nawrocki also tallied a even strength goal with Keaton Ginter on the assist.  At 14:32 Siegert had a unassisted shorthanded goal.  With a minute to go in the period Becker got their second goal on a power play.

The Falcons killed off three third period penalties to improve their record to 8-2.  Becker/Big Lake is 1-9.
