Faribault Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Main Street Program Coordinator Kelly Nygaard reports last weekend, "Faribault went mad for plaid."  The 5th annual Faribault Flannel Formal was held with over 450  people in attendance.

During  the event Paul Swenson was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his 43 years in business in Faribault.  Mayor Kevin Voracek declared Saturday, February 8, 2020 Paul Swenson Day in the City of Faribault.

Swenson suggested the flannel formal event as a fundraiser for the Main Street Program.  Nygaard added, "We were thrilled with the turnout and so thankful for the way that the community has embraced this event!  it's always fun to see the creativity that people place into their flannel outfits or perfecting a hot dish recipe, all while helping a community organization.  There was great music, delicious drinks, food, fun and frirnds all combined to make a wonderful winter night out."

There were 14 hot dishes enrolled in the contest with Ryan Knott's recipe declared the winner.  The event was held at 10,000 Drops and Corks and Pints.  Jordan Northrup and Laura Bock earned Best Dressed Lumberjack and Lumberjane honors.

Music was performed by Bryan Anderson and also Chad Johnson and the Minnesota Transplants.

Attendees received a commemorative glass, one complimentary beverage, and hot dish and trail mix to eat.
