The Faribault Falcons finished their regular season with a 8-2 win over the Rochester Century Panthers in Rochester Thursday night.  Falcon Senior Allyson McCoshen had two goals and two assists.

Five different Faribault players scored in the lopsided affair.  Two of the goals came on the power play.  Faribault was 2 of 3 and Century 1 of 3 on the power play.  The Falcons outshot Rochester Century 36-26.

Faribault led 3-2 after the first period.  4:00 into the game Falcon sophomore Haley Lang scored with an assist by McCoshen.

At 6:16 Kayli Burkhartzmeyer scored with assists to sophomore Olivia Williamson and McCoshen.  38 seconds later the Panthers answered with a even strength goal.

10:08 McCoshen scored, assisted by Lang and Rochester Century answered at 11:01 with a power play goal.

According to the game sheet Mikayla Bohner played in net the entire game for Faribault and did not allow a goal in the final two periods of the game.

The other second period goal was scored by McCoshen also unassisted.

In the third period Faribault goals were scored by Starkson and Olivia Williamson.

Chances are as Johnny Mathis would say the Falcons will be home Wednesday in the opening round of the playoffs against either Waseca, Austin or Albert Lea in the six team Section 1 Class A.  Red Wing will more than likely get the top seed, then Rochester Lourdes and Faribault.

The Falcons finished the regular season with a 15-10 record, 11-6 in the Big Nine and tied for third place with Owatonna in the conference.
