The Rochester Century Panthers won the Big Nine Conference girls cross country championship at Brooktree Golf Course in Owatonna Tuesday. Faribault Falcon Head Coach Willie Clapp was very happy to see junior Madelyn Skjeveland finish first and sophomore Ruby Gernandt fifth at the meet.

Clapp says his team would have won the meet, but a runner was disqualified for wearing a wrong number. Clapp called the rule, "An outdated, overzealous, lacking common sense procedural rule. The athlete did not receive an advantage over the competition by wearing the wrong number. There was no safety concern by wearing the incorrect number."
