Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines fog as "vapor condensed to fine particles of water suspended in the lower atmosphere that differs from cloud only in being near the ground." It's also considered to be a form or type of low-lying cloud. Fog forms when the difference between the dew point and the air temperature is less than 4 degrees Fahrenheit (or 2.5 degrees Celsius).

That's exactly the conditions that were occurring this morning as a heavy fog hung in the air when I walked out to my car. After scraping off my windshield, which had a nice coating of frost, I started off to work. The lights along the way illuminated the morning fog and made for an interesting drive to work. I had to drive a little slower than usual because every so often a deer or two would come bounding out onto the roadway. All in all it was a pleasant drive, and I stopped along the way to take some pictures to share with you.
