The Pavek Museum recently announced it's 2020 Minnesota Broadcasting Hall of Fame class, on that list which features familiar names to Minnesotans of all ages, was Pam Lundell. Pam got her first job in radio at our sister station in Owatonna, AM 1390 KRFO! I reached out to Pam, who is currently still doing what she loves, radio, at KTIS in the Twin Cities.

I asked Pam about her time at AM 1390 KRFO and this is what she had to say. "The legendary Todd Hale hired me and I started part-time weekends. I particularly remember coming in Sundays and unwrapping Casey Kasem's Top 40 album each week and putting it on the turntable and inserting local breaks after that it was the POLKA HOUR!  I was hired full-time as a copywriter and PT on-air in I believe in 1982."

Pam went on to tell me how much she enjoyed working with the area businesses when she was writing their commercials. "I loved working with local businesses producing their radio ads for KRFO. I was there for a couple of years and will never forget the great staff and mentoring by Todd Hale and the crew. It was the start of what's now turned into an over 30 year Twin Cities radio career."

Since her stint in Owatonna at AM 1390 KRFO, Pam has had other jobs including Traffic reporting at Metro traffic control. Pam also was on-air at Classic Country 104 w Tim Russell (Mornings), Smooth Jazz 104.1, 104.1 The Point, The Minnesota News Network, and KLBB mornings. Pam has been doing mornings on 98.5 KTIS for what will be 15 years this year!

You might also recognize her from her being an on-air talent since 1994 for Twin Cities Public Television during its fundraising efforts.

Joining Pam in this year's Minnesota Broadcast Hall of Fame will be:

Randy Shaver, Larry 'Moon' Thompson, Allen Lotsberg, and Don Egert.

On behalf of AM 1390 KRFO, congratulations Pam on your induction into the Minnesota Broadcasting Hall of Fame.
