Dreadwood Haunted Forest will be celebrating their 10th anniversary this year. And also, unfortunately, this will also be their last year. They announced recently that this haunt will be their last.

If you don't know, the Dreadwood Haunted Forest is run by 4 people and a bunch of volunteers. All of the money raised is donated to local charities. Bring Me the News writes that they've donated $187,000 since 2010. They've also donated around 23,000 lbs of food to local food shelves.

When Darrin Johnson, Becki LeMire, Alan Madison, and Emily Gerbig first started the Dreadwood Haunted Forest they thought only around 50 people would show up. Bring Me the News reports it was more like 350 people that came on opening night!

They have decided to close after this year because their lives are so different compared to when the Dreadwood Haunted Forest opened 10 years ago. "'Becki and Al’s careers have changed. Emily and Darrin now have young children.'"

If you would like to check out the Dreadwood Haunted Forest for their last year they'll be open Friday and Saturday nights in October. Tickets are $16. It's located just off of County Road E in Hudson.
