Let's Play Hockey doesn't have a lot of love for southern Minnesota girls hockey.  In the latest Class A rankings only Rochester Lourdes is in the state's Top 20.  Two of the biggest school districts in the state are still in the small schools top 20.  Minneapolis (with six of the seven high schools in a cooperative) is ranked #17.  South St. Paul is #5 and St. Paul United #14 in the Class A poll.

Anoka-Hennepin County is the largest school district in the state with St. Paul #2 and Minneapolis #1 in terms of overall student population.  Anoka-Hennepin County has 38,104 students.  St. Paul 37,698, Minneapolis 36,793.  There are 51 total schools in the Anoka-Hennepin County district.  St. Paul and Minnapolis each have 104 total schools.

Rochester is the 7th largest school district in Minnesota with 17,304 students attending 45 schools in the district.  Lakeville ranks 12th with 10,956 students going to 16 schools.

The South Suburban Conference has four teams in the Class AA top 20 poll.  Eagan #12, Lakeville North #15, Burnsville and Shakopee #18 and #19.  On top of the AA poll is Blake, Edina, Forest Lake and Andover.  Brainerd/Little Falls jumped up from #7 to #5.
