A Minnesota 14-year-old who recently passed away, from injuries suffered during a car crash on Sunday, after his family decided to take him off life support was honored by peers from 20 different high schools with a moment of silence. Sam Foltz's teammates on Prior Lake's skiing team pressed on at the regional meet at Buck Hill in Burnsville, two days after he was gravely injured in a Sunday morning crash as his father was driving him to that very slope for a workout.

The moment of silence came on Tuesday at Buck Hill in Burnsville during a regional meet.

Foltz was on life support until Wednesday when his family took him off life support and donated his organs. KSTP-TV reports that Foltz's heart is going to a 7-year-old boy, his kidney is going to a 16-year-old-boy, his pancreas is going to a 35-year-old female and his liver to a man in his 40s.

According to an updated press release from the Scott County Sheriff's Office Foltz was critically injured Sunday morning after 42-year-old Gail Schauer of Faribault allegedly did not stop at a stop sign, at the intersection of Natchez Ave and 185th Street E, and continued into the intersection where it made broadside contact with a black Ford Taurus which was traveling on 185th St E.

Also injured in the crash were Foltz's father Jason, Schauer, and a third driver, 46-year-old Leisha Baruch of Lakeville, who then hit the Jeep that Schauer was driving.
