The US Postal Service has announced some important deadlines that you'll want to know.

By now, most of us have done our shopping at "local" retailers - heck some of us have even finished shopping online! If you're trying to meet postal deadlines in order for your gift to get where it needs to be by Christmas, here are some dates that you'll want to know.

  • Dec. 14    – USPS Retail Ground (This is for standard - and free - 5-7 day shipping. Oops.)
  • Dec. 19    – First Class Mail (including greeting cards. You can send standard postcards, letters and large envelopes and small packages up to 15.99 ounces using First Class Mail.)
  • Dec. 20    – Priority Mail (will arrive in 1-2 days.)
  • Dec. 22    – Priority Mail Express (the quickest USPS mail service with overnight delivery to most US locations. Sorry Alaska and Hawaii!)

Be mindful of these! Rates will change depending on which shipping option you select.
