We have had some very mild temperatures across Southern Minnesota for the month of January, but this year's Hockey Day in Minnesota will go back to the ways that many of us Minnesotans are used to.

According to the National Weather Service in Duluth, the northern part of the state could see temperatures down below zero, and wind chills in the negative 30s!

Many of us have been able to get through this winter season with mild temperatures, but that will not be the case in Bemidji for Hockey Day Minnesota. The make-shift hockey rink will be made on Lake Bemidji and fit 3,000 spectators. Those who plan on attending Minnesota's Hockey Day will want to dress warmly. According to Bring Me The News, there will be tents set up to help people stay out of the cold. Hockey Day is scheduled for all day on Saturday, January 19th.

Here in Southeast Minnesota, we should continue to see mild temperatures early in the week and then start to get more "Minnesota" like with temps in teens over the weekend.
