Rochester Man Facing Two Felony Charges for Marijuana Bust

28-year-old D'Angelo Edward Tines is charged with one count each of first-degree cannabis possession and third-degree cannabis sale.

The criminal complaint says authorities executed the search warrant at a home in northwest Rochester while Tines was present. He had a handgun in his pants pocket when law enforcement arrived, the complaint says.

During the search, law enforcement found heat sealed packaging, a roll of plastic wrap, and two bags full of flower marijuana in an airtight container. The complaint also says he had an AR-15, another handgun and multiple firearm magazines.

There was also a digital scale, bowls containing marijuana residue and a heat-sealing device, the court document says.

11 Pounds of Marijuana Found During Search of Rochester Home

A total of 11 pounds of marijuana was found during the search. The combination of the large quantity of cannabis and devices found in the home indicated Tines “was involved in a large-scale marijuana distribution operation,” the charges say.

Minnesota law allows a person to posses of up to two pounds of marijuana inside of a private residence.

Tines is being charged by summons. He’s due to make his first court appearance early next year.
