Steve Underdahl was selected to be the Chairperson of the Rice County Board of Commissioners during their first meeting today of the new year.

Galen Malecha was chosen as Vice-Chair during the organizational meeting which lasted approximately 10 minutes in the Commissioner's Room of the Government Services Building in Faribault.

The selections were made after a formal swearing in ceremony was conducted in the same room with Judge Christine M. Long administering the oath of office.

Newly elected County Board member Gerald Hoisington was sworn in.
