Journey to the Past Tonight in Faribault
This very evening, Faribault's history comes alive at A Night at the Museum. As of this writing the weather promises to to be clear and cool. A perfect evening to wander around the Rice County Historical Society's Museum and grounds and meet people from the past and hear their stories.
This family friendly event is fun for the young and old alike and runs from 4-7PM tonight (10/7/17). Make your way through the log cabin, the church and the school house, as well as the Rice County Historical Society Museum, which will all will be open for tours and can be found at the east end of the Rice County Fairgrounds. If you're looking for a guided stroll through the past, there will be flashlight tours through Heritage and Harvest Hall every fifteen minutes starting at 4:15PM with the last one leaving at 6:30PM. You and your family can enjoy a horse-drawn wagon ride and then warm yourselves around the fire pit and enjoy some roasted hotdogs, drink some cider, snack on cookies, listen to music and more (hotdogs, cider, and cookies are sold for a minimal extra charge).
The cost for this fun-filled evening during the annual A Night at the Museum at the Rice County Historical Society is only $3 for adults and $1 for kids younger than 12 and parking is free. For more information, visit the Rice County Historical Society webpage.
