We Just Rode The Newest Ride At The Rice County Fair, Vertigo, And It Was Fun!
Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines vertigo as: "A sensation of motion in which the individual or the individual's surroundings seem to whirl dizzily." or "A dizzy confused state of mind."
Jerry Groskreutz and Paul Shea from KDHL Radio, Rice County Fair Board President Tara Langevin and her daughter, Fair Ambassadors Avalon Roberts and Marisa Winget all boarded the swings of the Vertigo ride. When they finished all indicated they enjoyed the ride.
Rice County Fair Executive Secretary John Dvorak was most concerned with Groskreutz so he brought him a large "Lose Your Lunch Bag."
When Jerry finished the ride he said. "It wasn't bad at all. I really didn't feel dizzy."
He showed the special bag was empty when he was done. Some wondered if he missed the bag.
Paul Shea enjoyed the ride, "It was fun and the view of the fairgrounds from up there is tremendous."
Rice County Fair Ambassadors Marisa Winget and Avalon Roberts also said the, "View was awesome" and both said they would definitely "go on the ride again with friends."
Tara Langevin was a bit leary at first but also said it was "really fun" and she would ride it again.
All said they thought it would whirl around faster.
The Rice County Fair traditionally ran Tuesday through Sunday but was moved to a Wednesday through Sunday fair this year.
Wednesday Jerry Groskreutz is looking forward to hosting the "Best of the Best Agriculture Awards" from the fair in an expanded KDHL AM Minnesota program.
The show begins 9:30 a.m. If you miss any or all of it the program will be available by podcast on the KDHL website or the FREE KDHL app.
Minnesota Department of Agriculture Commissioner Thom Petersen is scheduled to be in attendance.
Each day through Friday we will be having "Lunch From the Fair" during our "Midday Report" from Noon until 1:00 p.m.
We have a "History on the Fairgrounds" segment also Wednesday through Friday afternoon.
I snapped a few additional photos around the fairgrounds Tuesday. There was activity in most buildings.
