Lakeville Teen Breaks Multiple WORLD Swimming Records This Weekend
Being a professional athlete takes drive, determination, and heart. I played sports all the way through college but wasn't able to continue after I graduated. I have mad respect for those who can continue their careers to the next level because it takes a lot of sacrifices to perform with the elite athletes of the world.
Regan Smith is a 17-year-old from Lakeville, Minnesota and she had a weekend of a lifetime competing against some of the best swimmers in the world. According to WCCO, she was in South Korea this past weekend competing at the World Swimming Championships. In their original report, WCCO said that Smith had broken the 200-meter backstroke world record Saturday with a time of 2:03:35 in the semi-finals. This record was previously held by Missy Franklin which was 2:04:06.
