Local DoorDash Driver Threatens To Spit In Food Orders After ‘Low Tips’

So, living where we live, in a more rural setting, I've never been totally sold on DoorDash. I mean if I want something to eat I'll either make it or go get it or go out to eat, that's pretty straightforward. Some folks have taken to DoorDash to order meals and deliver them, and some people have chosen to work for DoorDash, where they pick up the meal and drop it off. One DoorDasher in the area may soon be out of a job after going off online over tips, and at one point threatened to spit in certain people's orders!

The community group on Facebook for 'Citizens of Medford/Owatonna/Morristown/Faribault/ West Concord' is generally a pretty low-key place online to find out what's happening around the area, and I was surprised to see a post about tips and DoorDash yesterday, but it got a lot of attention as the driver stated that he wouldn't deliver orders under a certain tip amount, rather he would just leave the order at the store, and seemingly take the tip. This sounds a lot like theft, but I'm not a legal expert. What's worse is this guy decided to continue to argue with people on that post and threatened to spit in orders, and declared that DoorDash "doesn't care" what their drivers do.

From this post, there were tons of comments, many of them telling the driver to just quit or not to accept those orders he doesn't find deem worthy, which made sense to me. Instead, this guy doubled down this morning by threatening to spit in orders.

One person on the thread stated that this had already happened to them!

What is wrong with some people?

It's unclear as to whether or not this guy still works in the area for DoorDash, but my guess is he probably won't be for long if what he posted about is true.
