'Lost' Minnesota Great Dane 'Hosting' Fundraiser For Local Humane

Last week we told you about a lost and injured great dane named Harvey, that brought a community together in the search for him. Well, Harvey was found about a day after being hit by a car and then running off, luckily Harvey wasn't severely injured other than having some cuts on his paws. Now, Harvey and his owners want to pay it forward to a local humane society that helped bring him back home.

Harvey and his owners are hosting a meet and greet with Harvey in an effort to assist the Humane Society of Freeborn County, which was instrumental in getting the word out about Harvey being lost and helping to organize people in the search for Harvey.

The event is being planned for January 15th, at the Edgewater Bay Pavillion in Albert Lea. The event is for Harvey "to thank all of you for being there for me, looking for me & helping my humans!! I am also hoping you might bring a donation for the Humane Society of Freeborn County - they sure were wonderful in all of this as well and I'd love to support all those brothers & sisters that they take care of down there! Even those little hissing ones!! I'll be posting a list of the things they really need to help take care of things AND remember, you can always bring a check or cash donation for them too!! That helps them SO much!! PayItForward is going to help us out, they got this nice place to come to & meet me! They are going to have treats & drinks as well so you can have a snack while you wait to see me!"

Harvey's owners are feeling quite fortunate that other than some scuffed up and bloodied paws, he wasn't more severely injured after being hit by a car and running off December 5th.

Once again, seeing communities like Albert Lea come together in an effort to search for a missing pet it so wonderful to see, and what made it even more special was that Harvey made it home, with some bumps and bruises, safe.
