Man Accused of Kicking Pregnant Stewartville Woman’s Abdomen
Stewartville, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Olmsted County Sheriff's Office responded Sunday to an incident of domestic violence that involved a pregnant woman being kicked in the abdomen.
Sheriff's Captain Scott Behrns says deputies were dispatched Sunday morning to a residence in the 2000 block of Bluebird Terrace Northwest in Stewartville after the 31-year-old reported being assaulted by the father of her unborn child. The woman, who is 13 weeks pregnant, responded by chasing him out of the home with a baseball bat.
When deputies arrived at the scene around 6:30 AM, they found 28-year-old Wade Smith nearby and arrested him on felony domestic assault charges. Captain Behrns says the pregnant woman told deputies she planned to have her unborn child checked out by her doctor.
