Mazeppa Man Helps Nab Fugitive in Oronoco
Oronoco, MN (KROC AM News) - A fugitive was apprehended in Oronoco Wednesday, thanks to a sharp-eyed Mazeppa man.
Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office investigator Mark Chambers was at the Casey’s store around 4:45 p.m. when he spotted 35-year-old Brandon Wenthold. Chambers knew Wenthold was wanted for a parole violation but before he could take him into custody, the Rochester man took off on foot.
As the deputy was chasing Wenthold, 41-year-old Travis Liffrig of Mazeppa saw the two in a nearby residential neighborhood. He jumped out of his truck and grabbed Wenthold until Chambers could handcuff him.
Wenthold is now facing new charges.
