Minnesota livestock producers trying to improve their livestock operations can apply for the Agriculture Growth, Research and Innovation Livestock Investment Grant program. The Minnesota Department of Agriculture uses a "competitive review process" and expects to award up to $768,000. Grants can be invested in facilities, infrastructure and equipment. The hope is to help sustain Minnesota's $7 billion livestock industry.

Livestock producers can apply for up to 10 percent of the total cost of the project. Award grants can range from $400 to 25,000. Each livestock operation is eligible to receive a lifetime maximum grant from the program of $50,000. To be eligible for reimbursement you must be invoiced and pay for all project materials and services between January 1, 2020 and June 21, 2021.

Your application and proposal must be received no later than 4:00 pm Wednesday December 18, 2019. A request for proposals application can be found on the AGRI Livestock website or you can call the Minnesota Department of Agriculture at: 651-201-6000.
