Minneapolis Man Receives Lengthy Sentence For Sex-Trafficking
Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Minnesota man is facing a lengthy prison sentence for a sex trafficking conviction.
The US Attorney for Minnesota says 46-year-old Omar Taylor of Minneapolis was given a 400-month sentence to federal prison on Friday. He was convicted of several sex trafficking-related charges during a trial that ended in early February.
“Omar Taylor is a coercive sex trafficker who pursued and exploited vulnerable victims for his own financial profit,” said United States Attorney Erica MacDonald. “The 400-month sentence handed down today is appropriate in light of the trauma Mr. Taylor inflicted upon his victims.”
A news release says Taylor, who is a registered sex offender, operated an illegal massage business out of his residence in Northeast Minneapolis from August 2017 through March in 2018. During that time, he was accused of recruiting several young women and juvenile girls to work in the business and then used force, threats of force, fraud, and coercion to get them to perform sex acts on customers for his financial benefit.
