Section 1B has four of the 16 teams in the State Class B Amateur Baseball Tournament which opens Friday in Shakopee.  The Miesville Mudhens were the last team out of the section to advance with a thrilling 3-1 win over Rochester Sunday in what was called the Redemption Round Championship.  The game was played in Miesville.

The Mudhens answered the Royals run scored in the top of the 6th with 2 runs in the bottom of the inning and added an insurance run in the 8th to secure the victory.

Jacob Dickmeyer earned the victory while going 7 and 2/3 innings with 6 hits allowed, 1 earned run, 2 walks, 3 strikeouts.  Chris Olean came in for the save while pitching 1/3 of an inning.

Michael Michalak accounted for Rochester's only run with a solo home run in the top of the 6th inning.

Rochester pitcher Matt Meyer went the distance giving up 9 hits, 1 earned run with no walks and 3 strikeouts.

Line totals were:  Rochester  1 run   8 hits   1 error
Miesville     3 runs  9 hits  0 errors

Miesville got 2 hits and 2 RBI from Deryk Marks, 2 hits, 1 RBI from Nate Hammes.  Joey Werner also had 2 hits.  The Mudhens had no extra base hits.

Elko Express opens Saturday with a 5:00 p.m. game against Moorhead Mudcats.  Dundas Dukes will play 2:00 p.m. Saturday against the Chaska Hawks.

Northfield Knights open Saturday, 11:00 a.m. with East Grand Forks.  Miesville tangles with Coon Rapids 11:00 a.m. Sunday.

The Chanhassen Redbirds are the two time defending state title holders in Class B.  They will play their first game Friday, 7:30 p.m. against St. Michael.  The only game on Friday.

The games are single elimination until the final weekend of the Minnesota Class B State Amateur Baseball Tournament.

This is the Dundas Dukes 30th trip to state.  Miesville is there for the 31st time.
